Safety Supervisor Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Supervisor to join our team. The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular inspections, and providing training to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols and possess excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with management to develop and maintain a culture of safety throughout the organization.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
• Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven experience working as a Safety Supervisor or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA guidelines.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify hazards and assess risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
