Accountant Job Description

Job Brief: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. You will provide accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting transactions and ensure timely close of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Prepare budget forecasts and monitor company expenditures.
• Conduct detailed reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.
• Administer payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Ensure timely bank payments and report on company’s financial health and liquidity.
• Audit financial transactions and documents to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Coordinate with external auditors for audit processes.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
• Proven work experience as an Accountant or similar role.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
• Strong analytical skills with a forward-thinking approach.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
